Students will explore reasons why books may get awards. Several children's book awards will be discussed through a slideshow, and students will be introduced to this year's California Young Reader Medal Nominees for Picture Books for Older Readers.
Kindergarten: It's Awesome Author Time! William Steig, You're it!
Students will listen to William Steig's Pete's a Pizza, then create virtual pizzas on www.abcya.com. Students can also choose to explore other William Steig books.
